A Documentary in Development
The Archive
My dad, Harold Brown, was WAR’s original drummer. He also kept cameras close, recording life around the band throughout the 1970s.
I’m opening that archive and developing a documentary from the material he preserved. It’s a story I’m connected to personally, and one I want to tell with care.
Meet My Dad, Harold Brown ↗Making of the Beat
A clip featuring Harold Brown on the rhythm and reach of WAR’s music. A chance to hear from the man behind the drums.
Life Around the Music
The footage moves beyond the stage, into dressing rooms, tour buses, hotel hallways, family kitchens, radio stations, and city streets. Some reels include synchronized sound and conversations caught on camera.
Together, they hold a record of the people and everyday life surrounding the music. My connection to the family and the material is part of how I’m approaching the story.

Where It Stands
The material exists. The documentary is in development. The next chapter is about preparing the archive, shaping the story, and finding the right creative partners.
I’m interested in conversations with documentary filmmakers, producers, archival specialists, and potential production, distribution, or funding partners.
